Kenna began his poker career in 1996 at the Hollywood Park Casino in Los Angeles. He was working as a dealer and spending his off time playing $1-2 limit hold’em. In 1997 he moved up to $20 - $100 buy-in tournaments. In 1999 he decided to turn pro and accepted a job as a proposition player at Crystal Park Casino.
By 2004, Kenna was earning recognition as a player to be watched. In 2005, he finished second in the televised WPT Legends of Poker main event at the Bicycle Casino. He also placed seventh in the Monte Carlo Millions, and took ninth in the Aussie Millions. He then started off 2006 by winning a tournament at the L.A. Poker Classic and placing second on the Party Poker Millions cruise. Kenna has earned over $2.5 million in tournament wins alone.
